    The rise of British Wrestling

Post by PhenominalXX1 on Fri Jan 01, 2016 9:29 am

Progress have sold out all there shows for this year without cards being announced in an 800 cap house and are now planning a supershow of 2000 cap house that will sell out in a flash.

ICW sold out a 4,000 cap house and are now planning a 10,000 cap house (same venue that WWE uses for TV Tapings in Scotland i think)

All of this is done mainly using British talent (ICW did use Drew Galloway, Rhino and Mick Foley for their supershow though, but Drew kinda started there before WWE so it doesnt count?), building their own stars (Grado and Jimmy Havoc might be the best face and heel in all of wrestling globally right now)

    Check it out

Progress is awesome and delivers almost PWG level shows. Phenomenal talent like Ospreay, Scrull, Andrews, SDS, London Riots, HASKINS and more. Just a joy to watch. I'd say most shows from Chapter 12 onwards are worth a watch.

Here's an exceptional comedy match from Ch. 12:

Thankfully PWG gave them some exposure as well or I would still be in the dark about a lot of these guys, but it does seem to be the dawn of a new age out there and that's awesome, hope it gets even bigger locally

Not really familiar with RevPros On Demand service, but Progress usually uploads their shows inside a week. Depends if they have to cut entrances/other editing.

That looks like a damn good card though. Styles' last indy appearence I think.

Rev Pro has a lot of free matches on their YouTube channel.

The matches are numbered, but they don't appear to be in any particular sequential order.

Show is up on demand, pretty darn good show, Osperay/Scurll is really great, Osperay is so incredibly talented, dude blows my mind how smooth he is with some stuff

AJ/Zack was really good to, but I would say I was slightly disappointed only because I had such high expectations going in

Speedball v Damo is super fun, not quite as good as Drew/Speedball from BOLA but still a really fun match

I just realized most of the rev pro/njpw show from october is on NJPW world. Ospreay/Okada was awesome. About to load up Scurll/Nakamura.

Subbed to RevPro's ondemand service for this month, it's like $8.50 and Angle/Sabre drops tomorrow

dipping in a little bit into the archives, and I gotta say I really dig everything about RevPro except Gideon Grey, I don't get it, I think he's supposed to be a comedy heel, but his match with Dalton Castle was semi main and they went like 15+ minutes which was way too long, but everything else was fun

Angle v Sabre was really weird, I guess Kurt has a bad knee so they only went like 9 minutes, now they had a really hot finishing sequence it just came out of nowhere

I haven't seen Kurt wrestle in 6-7 years so I don't know if this is just where he's at now or not, but I was really surprised they didn't do more chain wrestling early

Overall the show was really good though with Ospreay/Speedball really standing out
