Another really close fight for Bendo. Thomson won the grappling exchanges, but Smooth won standing. That is an area where he could have been more active, wasn't the statement win he was looking for after losing his belt.

Cowboy is always a fun fighter to watch and brought the violence tonight with a devastating headkick.

Caceres/Pettis was FOTN, very nice come from behind sub by Alex.

Cruickshank looked really sharp in his striking to put away Rio.

Judges LOVE Bendo. I am not saying he outright lost that fight, but it was pretty close. I might have judged it to Thomson.

I gave it Thomson, but I also thought Bendo lost to Edgar the 2nd time and to Melendez, so maybe I just don't get his style? Like I guess he is active on the feet, but nothing he does ever seems that effective really.

This is going to seem really silly and it probably is, but I honestly think judges have this strange bias toward fighters with long hair. Not that they say "i like long hair, he wins", but I think the hair can make a fighter look more active than he really is. I really only have Clay Guida and Bendo to derive this theory from, but both guys have won fights via decision that I scratched my head at.
