Always the Challenger, Never the Champ

Post by WWF Attitude on Thu May 25, 2017 3:47 pm

I decided to make a list of all the wrestlers that had World Title shots on WWF/E PPV (1985 - Now) that never became a world champion. What sparked this idea was the current holder of the WWE Championship's unexpected situation.

Some got on this list thanks to the 1992 and 2016 Royal Rumble, or the various Multiman matches. Regardless they were still a contender at that moment. Anyway enjoy and think about what could have been or what will be...also poor Davey Boy Smith, they could have thrown that dog a bone.

Bulldog always had the reputation of being the "challenger who never wins" guy, but good to know luminaries such as Ryback and Wade Barrett are right up there with him.

I still stand by my decision to buy my ticket for Capital Punishment after Truth was announced as the challenger.
